West Caicos

West Caicos, an uninhabited island, is located 10 miles SW of Providenciales. The island is low lying and arid. No runoff to degrade the water clarity. The trip by boat from Turtle Cove in the Providenciales will take about 1 hour. The uninhabited island has miles of unspoiled scenic coastline overlooking turquoise water. On the west coast there is steep white limestone cliffs near the shoreline with sisal and scrub growth, and a brackish Lake Catherine in the interior. On the north and east shoreline, there are miles of pure white sandy beaches. The wall running parallel very close to the west shoreline drops into the abyss. You can see Eagle Rays, Sharks, dolphins and sharks throughout the area. There are many day trips from the mainland but to really see the area, I would suggest one of the live-aboards out of the Providenciales. Also, usually, you will be diving the French Cay south of the Providenciales and dive a few site of NW point of the Providenciales.
